On the 29 - 30 of September 2025, the Danish Parliament's Finance Committee will host the Interparliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination, and Governance in the EU (SECG). At the conference, Parliamentarians from across the EU are invited to discuss the EU's economic policies. In addition to national parliamentarians, members of the European Parliament are also invited. This conference is a recurring event that the EU Presidency is obliged to hold.
The Finance Committee has decided that this year's conference will focus on three current themes:
- How can the EU's economic position be strengthened in uncertain times?
- How can the EU's security policy independence be financed?
- Are the European fiscal rules sustainable in the current geopolitical situation?
These three themes will be addressed by relevant experts and politicians from both Denmark and Europe.
During the Danish EU Presidency, the conference will be held on 29 - 30 September 2025 in Billund at LEGOLAND Hotel & Conference.
The Interparliamentary Conference SECG is held twice a year. The first conference takes place in the European Parliament during the first half of the year. It is co-chaired by the country holding the EU Presidency and the European Parliament, in coordination with the cycle of the European Semester. In the second half of the year, the conference is hosted by the national parliament of the country holding the rotating EU Presidency, i.e., Denmark.
