Denmark holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from July 1st, 2025, to December 31st, 2025. This is the eighth Danish EU Presidency since Denmark joined the European Community in 1973.
While the Danish government takes on the Presidency of the Council, the Danish Parliament, Folketinget, will chair the parliamentary dimension of the Presidency.
During the presidency, the Danish Parliament will be hosting four fixed interparliamentary conferences on general European political issues, foreign and security policy, and economic governance. Additionally, it will host three thematic interparliamentary conferences to highlight selected Danish priorities.
