Denmark holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025. This is the eighth time that Denmark has held the EU Presidency since the country joined the European Community in 1973.
While the Danish government takes on the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) chairs the parliamentary dimension of the Presidency.
During the Presidency, the Danish Parliament will be hosting four standing inter-parliamentary conferences on general European policy issues, foreign and security policy, and economic governance. Additionally, it will host three thematic inter-parliamentary conferences to highlight selected Danish priorities.
